We partnered with Freeva to educate local children on healthy relationships and how to report abuse at home. We also equipped schools and teachers with resources to create safe spaces for children to come forward.
Our most recent campaign focuses on young children exposed to domestic abuse and providing them with an understanding of healthy relationships and access to support.
Children and adolescents who are witnessing domestic or sexual abuse at home do not know what constitutes a healthy relationship. This then puts them at risk of engaging in perpetrator behaviours or becoming a victim of abuse later in life. This campaign aims to end this cycle of abuse by educating children on healthy relationships and how to report it.
Since school is often a safe space for these children, we felt it was vital to properly equip schools and teachers with the necessary tools and knowledge to handle abuse disclosures and support affected students.

Utilising behavioural science best practices, our team designed an appropriate intervention. This resulted in the production of a robust set of ducational materials that schools can use to address both campaign goals: educating children on healthy relationships and giving schools the tools to handle abuse disclosures. Schools now have access to a detailed teacher toolkit, which includes lesson plans, assembly guides, posters, activity sheets, and more, to help navigate these difficult but critical conversations.
Additionally, we promoted Freeva’s specialised disclosure training to encourage teachers and school staff to feel confident in supporting children exposed to abuse. This training ensures that teachers are well-prepared to manage abuse disclosures effectively and with sensitivity.
To further extend the reach of this campaign, we created and delivered a social media campaign for Freeva to run concurrently with the launch. This strategy focused on raising awareness about the campaign’s objectives and broadening its impact across schools in the local area.
This campaign raised awareness and improved support for children witnessing domestic abuse, as well as equipped schools with the necessary tools and training to handle abuse disclosures.
Teachers and school staff were able to utilise the resource toolkit, leading to more confident and informed handling of abuse disclosures. This meant more schools were able to create safe spaces where children felt able to disclose abuse.
Overall, the campaign not only helped children recognise unhealthy behaviours but also provided vital support to educators, ensuring that young people in the region are more protected from the long-term impacts of witnessing abuse.
