Google Analytics Set Up

Helping you make important business decisions based on accurate information.

The Purpose of Google Analytics Set Up

Collecting website data is crucial to making the most of your marketing and ensuring sales are measured and monitored correctly. The key data collected through Google Analytics will help you make important business decisions based on accurate information.

With Universal Analytics ending in 2023, it is vital to ensure Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is set up and correctly configured.

Our Google Analytics Set Up Method

What’s included in a MacMartin Google Analytics Set Up?

Phase 2

Set up Tag Manager

In order for us to track key events, we will set up Google Tag manager, integrating this with Google Analytics.

Phase 3

Set up Lead Tracking - Events

We will set up lead tracking from contact forms and brochure downloads, as well as tracking clicks on phone numbers and email addresses throughout your website.

Phase 4

Set up E-commerce Tracking - Events

We can set up the collection of key e-commerce data, including product page views, search terms and purchases.

Phase 5

Integration

We set up the integration with other key Google products, including: Google Ads, Google Merchant Centre and Google Search Console.

Phase 6

Set up reporting

Depending upon the outcome of our initial conversation, we will set up automated reporting with the data that is most important for you to receive.

Honest Added Value

To set up your Google Analytics account effectively, we will work with your business to understand the data and reports that you need to be able to effectively measure your business goals. Then we will work through each of the key set up aspects above.

GA4 is the newest version of Google Analytics and is replacing Universal Analytics. GA4 has a more simplified user interface, with additional features. GA4 collects both website and app data, it uses event-based data rather than session-based data and it includes privacy controls.

Universal Analytics will stop processing data on 1st July 2023. Historical data will not be accessible a short time after this. It is important to begin collecting data on GA4 as early as possible.

This generally depends on the size of your website and the number of events you would like to track. As a guide, you could expect a GA4 set up to take 1-2 days (over a period of 1-2 weeks from initial meeting). This will cost from £600 as a one-off fee.

After our initial call and access to your Google analytics account (if you have one), we will work with you to ascertain which data is most important to your business, and will then carry out the following steps:

Set up and basic configuration of GA4 account.

Set up of Google tag manager and integration with GA4.

Set up of lead/e-commerce tracking via Google Tag Manager.

Integration with other Google products.

Set up a bespoke report, which will be sent to you weekly or monthly.
